In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an special katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
